The Halo Safety Ring is the only institutionally designed bed system mobility device that meets and exceeds the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Hospital Bed Safety Workshop (HBSW) dimensional guidelines to prevent resident entrapment. In March 2006 the HBSW established a set of guidelines identifying the seven most critical areas of entrapment. Entrapment is defined as an event in which a resident is caught, trapped or entangled in or about the bed rails, mattress or bed frame.
The innovative design of the Halo Safety Ring, which utilizes a lateral mattress stay and a circle mount, eliminates the danger of entrapment on all bed types and provides residents with greater mobility and a sense of security.
The Halo Safety Ring takes into account the varying tolerances of mattresses, mattress shifting and compression. The ergonomically designed device is easy to use for residents and increasing their mobility regardless of bed-type or the size of the resident. By locking into place the telescoping tube connector buttons, the Halo Safety Ring can double as a quad-like cane assisting the resident in and out of bed. The Halo Safety Ring articulates with the rising and lowering of the bed, enabling the resident to maneuver in the bed while in various positions.
The Halo Safety Ring is available for all bed types and comes in both single-sided and double-sided versions.

The Halo Safety Ring Rotates for ease of leaving the bed while staying stable and firmly attached to the bed.
